● Assist the driver to pick up donated goods and deliver purchased goods in the most efficient way possible. Loading and unloading truck. Addresses will be provided at the beginning of each shift. All goods picked up are to be returned to the shop.
● Assist the driver to load the truck and take recycling and rubbish to the Resource Recovery Centre and Transfer Station.
● Assist the driver to load the truck and take metal to the Metal Recyclers and receive cash payment for it. Payment is to be returned to the manager immediately.
● Other duties as assigned by the manager.
● A staff member who has an accident at work will report the accident to the Manager as soon as possible.
● Attire should be tidy and clean and any uniform supplied is to be worn while carrying out the rostered shift.
● Lockers are provided and personal bags and belongings must be kept in a locker rather than in your workspace. You can choose to lock your locker and keep the key on you during your shift but key must be returned to the lock after your shift.
● Car parking is available in the driveway beside the shop if there is sufficient space. As per The Blue Door Policy and Procedure Manual, staff cars are not to be parked in the customer car park.
● If a volunteer is unable to attend their rostered shift, the Manager is to be notified as soon as possible so a replacement can be arranged.
● Orientation and training will be provided as necessary.
● If further information or assistance is ever needed to enable you to carry out your duties, please ask the Manager or Assistant Manager.
Must be physically fit to be able to assist with lifting on pick ups and deliveries
Friday morning shift is 9am - 12.30pm.
