Work as part of a two-person team on the counter at The Blue Door, being primarily responsible for sales and customer service. Supported by other staff when necessary.
Duties include: operating the till and eftpos, customer service, putting items on hold, retrieving held items, restocking plastic bags and newspaper sheets as needed, occasional cleaning, and assisting with stocking the shop with goods when time permits.

In particular, we are looking for volunteers to fill Monday afternoon and Friday mornings.

Volunteering at The Blue Door is a great way to gain experience, meet new people, and learn new skills.
Full induction and training will be provided.

Requirements:

Friendly, punctual and reliable, cash handling skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.
Experience working in retail/customer service is not necessary but will be an advantage.
A criminal record check is required.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

3.5 to 5 hrs per week,
Monday afternoon 12.30pm to 4.30pm,
Friday morning 9.00am to 12.30pm,
Friday afternoon 12.30pm to 4.30pm or
every second Saturday 9am to 2pm.
