Canine Friends Pet therapy

Canine friends pet therapy is a network of volunteers who visit mainly rest homes with their dog on a weekly or fortnightly basis . We find the right placement for you and take you through the role for you first few visits. It usually involves an hour and a half for each visit .

Requirements:

A friendly dog that is gentle and willing to be patted, hugged and stroked. A person who is happy to talk to the elderly and share some spare time with those who will enjoy meeting a well behaved dog. We have a vetting and assessment programme that is required for all new volunteers. A small association joining fee . Your dog must have a current vaccination certificate .

A Police background check is required for this role.

An hour or two on a regular basis, weekly or fortnightly
