We want more amazing volunteers to come and do great things with us . Would you and your friends like to join our passionate and supportive team in a well-established, long-standing organization with growth potential? One Volunteer working in a group of girls is just not enough so you can learn together.

There is no experience needed, but we need reliable volunteers and previous experience working with youth is an advantage.
Girlguiding New Zealand's health and safety policy also has requirements around adult-to-child ratios, so we do require that you are older than 18.

You will be given FREE leadership training, mentoring, and all uniform is provided. There is no personal cost to you to volunteer.

Requirements:

As a volunteer you need to:

  • Have a passion to inspire girls and young women to reach their full potential and learn new skills
  • Be encouraging, assertive and patient
  • Be a hands-on leader and learner
  • Meet new people and become part of a worldwide network

During the school term our GGNZ leaders:

  • Attend a weekly session (in person) for up to two hours
  • Helping plan the term's activities and deliver them to the girls
  • Complete occasional evening / weekend training as required
  • Attend occasional leader / planning meetings, and trips or camps

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

We would need to have Volunteers that will commit to a minimum of six months .
Currently recruiting for:
Blenheim Guides who meet on Thursday's 6 - 8pm during school term,
Blenheim Brownies who meet on Thursday's 4-5:30pm during school term,
Blenheim Pippins who meet on Tuesday's 4-5pm during school term
More time will be needed for occasional events or camps held over weekends .
