Sunday Working Bee Helpers

This is an excellent opportunity to volunteer on a casual basis or just once.

Grovetown Lagoon Restoration Project (https://www.grovetown.co.nz/) is a community project connecting all sorts of people working steadily to restore a very special freshwater wetland so everyone can enjoy a shady rest, walk, picnic, kayak and relish the serenity of this sanctuary (and the hundreds of birds that live there!).

On the second Sunday of every month, Grovetown Lagoon Restoration Project hosts a working bee starting at 9:30am and finish at 12 noon, (often followed by a sausage sizzle and cuppa as a welcome reward). Volunteers will enjoy a couple of hours in a beautiful spot, learning new skills, and meeting a fabulous group of people! A range of jobs are available and full training is provided!

2024 working bee dates:
⋅ 10th March
⋅ 14th April
⋅ 12th May,

⋅ weeding,
⋅ mulching,
⋅ and any jobs that are required for the continued conservation and recreation operation of the area.

Volunteers of any age are welcome to apply. However, volunteers under 16 should be accompanied by an adult, at least for the first few sessions.
