Volunteer at Marlborough Riding for the Disabled

Marlborough RDA was established in 1972 to assist people within the Marlborough region living with a challenges; physically, emotionally or intellectually by providing therapeutic interaction with horses to develop increased ability, independence and self-esteem.


Marlborough Riding for the Disabled are URGENTLY looking for experienced and knowledgeable horse handlers to join their team of Volunteers to assist with various horse related tasks.

Duties may include: grooming, assisting riders to tack up/untack, lead horses/ponies in the RDA sessions, turning horses out into their paddocks, feeding hay and everything else in between!

We do a lot of walking and a bit of trotting during our RDA sessions, so volunteers do require a reasonable level of fitness to safely fulfil this role.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Hours we need help are:
Monday, Tuesdays and Thursdays 9am-12pm and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons (12.30pm-3.30pm).

✅ Volunteers will need to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 for this role.
