Branch President

Branch presidents ensure all branch activities and programmes operate in alignment within the strategic priorities of New Zealand Red Cross.

The branch president works in collaboration with their committee to ensure good governance principles are practiced and embedded in the overall management of the branch and its members and volunteers.

Taking an inclusive and impartial approach, the branch president cultivates a welcoming environment that enables members and volunteers to feel well placed and supported to deliver good in their community. They lead planning, monitoring and reporting of branch-related activities and collaborate with other Red Cross people and stakeholders for the same.

The branch president plays a key role in keeping their members informed through effective communication. As a key representative of New Zealand Red Cross, the branch president engages with internal and external stakeholders to raise awareness of the organisation’s profile in the local community and encourage engagement with our humanitarian mission.

Requirements:

We’re looking for individuals with strong leadership, computer skills, and excellent communication abilities, along with good organisational, planning, and coordination skills.

We will provide training on how to undertake your role. You'll be supported by a team of Red Cross people.​

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Branch meets monthly, date and time are communicated. Meetings are in person at Blenheim Service Centre, 33 Redwood Street, Blenheim Central, Blenheim 7201.
