Treasurer

Volunteer Marlborough is currently looking for new Treasurer to round out our team and help us achieve our goal of supporting volunteering in the community.

Tasks may include:

  • ensuring that monthly financial information is prepared for presentation to the Board
  • heading up finance sub-committee (if required)
  • in conjunction with General Manager, prepare and present annual budget
  • provide advice and assistance in development of financial strategies
  • advise and assist with establishment of efficient financial systems
  • along with Board Chair and General Manager, act as a signatory for banking arrangements and funding applications

Anyone aged 18 or over is welcome to apply. Ideally you will be well networked, have knowledge of community and voluntary sector or community development.

Meetings are generally held on the 4th Wednesday of every second month at 7:30am, with very occasional sub-committee meetings depending on areas of skill or interest. Meetings are approximately 1.5 hours monthly with some additional meetings and events periodically. You will need to be able to attend regular Board meetings and ensure you have read all papers beforehand.

We are a dynamic organisation that is in a strong position in the community and has shown substantial growth over recent years.

Governance of non-profit organisations is all about providing strategic leadership, while focusing on the processes for making and implementing decisions that will continue to advance an organization’s principles and mission.

Requirements:

Previous governance experience is useful, but not a requirement

A Police background check is required for this role.
