Assist SPCA staff by socialising animals and sharing morning cleaning duties with staff (hosing kennels, cleaning litter trays, cleaning cat huts, laundry). Currently we particularly need help walking and socialising dogs, so if you feel comfortable around dogs and have experience with them, please let us know.
SPCA staff can be flexible in assigning tasks to volunteers, so let us know if you want to start slowly, or just try one task at a time.
Volunteers must be 18+ to handle dogs, and 16+ to handle cats and other animals.
Animal handling skills or a willingness to learn. Reliable.
A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.
Preferably, we would like volunteers between 8.30am and 11am, but some tasks are available for later morning. Weekdays or weekends.
