Join our Upper South Area Council as an Area Councillor!
Upper South Area covers Nelson, Tasman, Marlborough and West Coast.
We are actively seeking someone who has a diverse background, skills and experience. This can range from leadership and governance to lived experience of humanitarian work.
We also strongly encourage young people (under 30) who may, or may not have governance experience, but have an interest in leadership to get involved, as development in this role will be supported.
Role description
The Area Councillor contributes to the work of the Area Council to deliver positive and stable leadership that strengthens and protects New Zealand Red Cross in the Area.
Providing support to the Area Chair, the Area Councillor acts as a key connector to empower Branches, Groups, and members (including those who volunteer their time) to plan and deliver activities in alignment with New Zealand Red Cross’ strategic priorities.

This is a three year elected role. All candidates for Area Councils are asked to undergo a due diligence process.
