Our mission is to reduce deaths from breast cancer by pushing new frontiers in early detection, treatments and support. We do this through: * Raising awareness and education * Funding research and clinical trials * Training of medical professionals * Funding special equipment for hospitals * Supporting patients with a breast nurse helpline and a web-based patient community network We provide counselling and rehabilitation support and also advocate to the government for world-class treatments and care for all New Zealanders with breast cancer. OUR FOCUS: 1) SAVE LIVES through breast health education. Promote early detection through mammograms. 2) SUPPORT women with breast cancer through our 0800BCNURSE advice line, free counselling service and Sweet Louise. 3) RESEARCH for better treatment, greater survival.
