The Marlborough Women's Triathlon is New Zealand's longest running women's triathlon. Thousands of women have taken part in this event since 1983. The Marlborough Women’s Triathlon is regarded as one of Marlborough’s best physical activity events of the year. 2020 will be the 38th year the triathlon has been held. Being New Zealand’s first women’s only triathlon, this event has a history of being a fun-filled participation event, whether a first time competitor or experienced multisport athlete. Unlike traditional triathlons, the Marlborough Women’s Triathlon is run in reverse order; starting with a run/walk, leading into a cycle and finishing with a short swim. The main aims of the triathlon are to: - provide an opportunity for women to participate in physical activity. - for women to set a goal, train and achieve it. - have fun and to enjoy the rewards of being active.
