Literacy Aotearoa is a national organisation of adult literacy providers and is a leading commentator on literacy issues in Aotearoa New Zealand. In carrying out our mission 'to develop, promote, and deliver accessible, quality literacy services designed to ensure the peoples of Aotearoa are critically literate and able to realise their full social, cultural, and economic potential', Literacy Aotearoa has a fundamental commitment to student-centered learning, at no direct cost to the learner. Our objective is to help the people of Marlborough achieve their own goals by developing these fundamental skills. We help people take charge of their life by improving their reading, writing, and maths skills through private, one-to-one or small group tutoring from trained tutors using methods that work. We find out what they want to learn, and why. We put them in charge of their own learning. When learning is relevant to them, it's more interesting, which means they can achieve better results faster and it will change their life.
