The Volunteer of the Month award for August was proudly presented to Joanne Brady, a cornerstone of the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) Marlborough. Joanne's multifaceted roles as Treasurer, Peer Reviewer, Interviewer, and Trustee exemplify her unwavering commitment to community service and her profound impact on those she serves.
Joanne's journey with CAB began after she learned about the organisation's services through her mother. Following her retirement, she seized the opportunity to contribute her time and expertise, embarking on a path that would see her become an invaluable asset to the bureau.
In her role as Treasurer, Joanne meticulously manages the organisation's finances, ensuring that every penny is accounted for with transparency and integrity. Her dedication ensures that CAB operates smoothly and can continue providing crucial support to those in need.
As an Interviewer, Joanne brings empathy and understanding to her interactions with clients. Her ability to listen attentively and offer informed guidance helps ease their concerns, providing them with the tools they need to make informed decisions. Joanne finds immense satisfaction in witnessing the transformation of clients from feeling overwhelmed to leaving with renewed hope and a spring in their step. "I love seeing people go away feeling less anxious," Joanne shared. "They often come in feeling downtrodden and overwhelmed."
Joanne's role as a Peer Reviewer involves offering constructive feedback and support to her fellow volunteers and staff members. This role underscores her dedication to not just serving clients, but also enhancing the effectiveness of the CAB team. In her capacity as a Trustee, Joanne plays a pivotal role in steering the organisation's direction. Her contributions help shape the policies and strategies that ensure CAB's long-term success and continued impact on the community. As she aptly puts it, "it levels the playing field, making sure everyone has access to information and knowledge."
Nate Hanson, the Coordinator at CAB, praises Joanne's exceptional dedication: "Joanne's commitment to her various roles is a testament to her passion for community service. Her versatility, compassion, and expertise contribute significantly to building a stronger, more supportive community. She truly embodies the spirit of volunteerism."
Joanne's enthusiasm and reliability make her a role model for others aspiring to make a meaningful impact. Her efforts ensure that individuals and families in our community have access to the assistance and resources they need, fostering a more equitable and supportive environment.
Joanne Brady's contributions to the Citizens Advice Bureau not only enhance the lives of those she directly supports but also inspire those around her. Her selflessness and dedication reflect the very best of volunteerism.
Congratulations, Joanne, on being our August Volunteer of the Month! Your service is both remarkable and deeply appreciated.
