WORKSHOP: Successful Volunteer Retention (ONLINE)

19 May 2022 to 26 May 2022

WORKSHOP: Successful Volunteer Retention (ONLINE)

This workshop will be facilitated by Chris Atkinson, Regional Advisor, Volunteering Waikato

Retaining volunteers is more important than ever to ensure your volunteer programme remains sustainable. Do applicants disappear not long after they’ve started? Are established volunteers becoming more short term in their commitment? Retention is more than just a chocolate bar and morning tea twice a year – connecting with volunteers in other ways is more effective and viable.

This workshop has a focus on volunteer retention and will explore:

  • How status quo volunteer engagement needs to change
  • The importance of treating volunteers like customers
  • How to improve your recruitment road map
  • The difference between recognition and acknowledgement
  • How to foster and grow longer term commitment

Reading material and a printable (if you choose) workbook will be provided prior to each workshop session.

**PLEASE NOTE: This workshop will be held online in two parts:

  • Thursday 19 May 2022 - 10am-11:30am
  • Thursday 26 May 2022 - 10am-11:30am**

This workshop will be held via Zoom, and the link will be sent to you in due course.
