Intercultural awareness training for successful interactions & conversations between people from different cultures.

Marlborough is home to people from many different ethnicities who live, work, and volunteer together. In an increasingly mobile, globally connected world, the ability to understand culture and culture related behavious is a core skill for successful personal as well as professional interactions.

Increase your cultural intelligence to be ready for life in a diverse society.

In this one day workshop you will...

... reflect on your own cultural identity and the impact of beliefs and values
... increase your knowledge about culturally related behaviour and gain insight into cultural traits beyond confining stereotypes
... get to know models and tools to compare and understand cultures better
... learn about appropriate ways to communicate in different settings and minimize misunderstandings


This workshop will be facilitated by Birte Becker-Steel.

Ever since graduating as a social worker in 1999, Birte has developed and facilitated a multitude of workshops, trainings, and events. She is an enthusiastic person with a strong passion for life-long learning who loves to share her findings. That's why she made accompanying and supporting people on their development journeys her profession. She offers customized workshops and individual coaching sessions. Her strengths are structured as well as creative thinking by providing a clear framework to think outside the box. Birte loves to see the big picture whilst paying attention to detail.

After 8 years of supporting migrants and newcomers from more than 60 ethnic backgrounds settling into the Hokitika and Greymouth area, she applied some changes to her own life in 2020 and opened a branch of her German company 'Vis a Vis Coaching, Workshops, and Course' on the West Coast.
