WEBINAR: Incorporated Societies Act Update

Incorporated Societies Act Update

Legislation governing Incorporated Societies in New Zealand is 110 years old. A long anticipated bill to update this legislation has had its first reading in Parliament. It aims to provide a modern framework for governance and accountability for Societies and officers that run them.

The Bill adds new requirements which were not in the original legislation. It also expands on many of the existing principles, such as not being able to make a pecuniary gain as a member or officer of a Society.
