Intro to Social Media for Not-for-Profits

14 Nov 2023 - 12:00pm to 4:00pm

Intro to Social Media for Not-for-Profits

Intro to Social Media for Not-for-Profit Community Groups and Organisations

Learn the basics of maintaining a professional Facebook page and/or Instagram account for your community group or organisation.

We will cover:

  • why your group/organisation needs a social media presence
  • which platform(s) to choose
  • orientation to settings and features (including Meta Business Suite)
  • how to post or schedule posts
  • what content you can post
  • Jyn's top social media management tips

This workshop will cover both Facebook and Instagram.

To get the most out of this workshop, it is recommended that attendees bring a laptop and smartphone, logged into their social media accounts. If you do not have social media accounts (or don't bring devices / aren't logged in), you will still learn something from the class, but will not be able to join the live practice. Jyn is able to provide access to a 'dummy' page for people to practice on if there is no existing FB page.

Please note: This is an orientation workshop and won't allow time to delve too deeply, however we are planning a second level course for 2024 as a follow-on.
