Join us for a Christmas themed hub along with guest speaker, Jill Bird, from 'Dental Mavericks' who will speak about her volunteer work in Morocco.
Harakeke is a local and community led project arising from an identified need in Marlborough. The aim is to empower people to make meaningful connections and gain support to access a directory of local services, community groups, and organisations information including health care and support services. The focus is on reducing sustained feelings of loneliness, promoting a strong sense of belonging and inclusivity and improving health and wellbeing.
Harakeke hubs (venues such as libraries/cafes) are a welcome place to foster meaningful connections. People can initiate conversation, gain social interaction, and be supported to access the Marlborough CAB directory (local services, community groups and organisations). The hub will be hosted by a trained,community-minded volunteer.
Marlborough Community Directory is an up to date “one stop shop” for people to access the local services including social and community support services they need. Established and managed by Citizens Advice Bureau; who also provided face to face assistance and over the phone advice, for those unable to access the online directory themselves.
All ages are welcome and it is completely free!
Location: Te Kahu o Waipuna | Marlborough Library, 15 High Street, Blenheim
