Coordinator for the Red Cross Community Gardens

These community gardens have been set up, and have five plots which are irrigated by overhead sprinklers on a timer system, for the Marlborough Food Bank. This is a Red Cross initiative to help our community.

This role would be perfect for those who love to garden and work with others (there are currently two other volunteers on a Friday morning).

Red Cross allows for seeds, plants, fertilizers, compost etc to be purchased from Bunnings.

Requirements:

You will have access to the Community Gardens, which allows you access to communal tools if required.

You will be able to help out with planting and weeding, keeping paths clear around the five Red Cross plots.

As the coordinator of the Community Gardens we ask that you can prepare a simple report and email to the secretary and treasurer (if purchases have been made at Bunnings) of Red Cross

Training will be provided

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

We will need you to be able to commit to one morning a week (currently a Friday when the other volunteers are there)

Be able to harvest and package the vegetables on a Sunday ready to take to Food Bank on a Monday morning around 9am
