Creative Kids Trust is a Marlborough-based not-for-profit providing creative arts programmes for children, youth and the wider whanau to facilitate growth and establish a healthy sense of self. Our aim is to unite a community at its roots and live a culture that recognises and acts on inclusiveness, diversity and respect.
On Saturday 20th August from 5-6pm we are hosting the inaugural 'Walk of Light' event - a lantern walk along the Taylor River with various community choir groups performing along the river path.
Walk of light is a Creative Kids initiative recognising that after two years of global isolation and introspection it's time to take gentle steps of light and hope. Imagine, the Taylor river dotted with Marlborough’s voices, community weaving their way through with lanterns, all coming together as one, in unity, to sing.
We are requiring volunteers to assist with traffic control along the river and assisting choir groups, selling lanterns on the night to participants along with general set-up and pack-down duties.
This is your opportunity to join and support this inaugural event and enjoy the evening of song and community coming together.
Volunteers will need to be a minimum age of 16 years and physically able to lift/stand.
Volunteers will be needed prior to the start of the event for set-up requirements along with preceding the event to assist our team with pack-down duties. Training will be available prior to the event.
