Customer and Community Advisory

This is a volunteer role (approximately 60 hours per year) and applications are welcome from people in every corner of Aotearoa. It is an opportunity for members of communities to share their voice as part of a group working to achieve the vision of enhanced health and well-being for all New Zealanders, underpinned by the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Please note that current members of St John are NOT eligible to apply.
Members will come from diverse backgrounds with varied interests to provide a strong and viable voice for the community and consumers on healthcare planning, quality improvement and service delivery

If you have experience in one of these specific areas, this will be an advantage (but it is not necessary):

  • women’s health,
  • men’s health,
  • children’s health,
  • Māori and/or Pacific people's health ,
  • Asian peoples’ health,
  • rural living and healthcare access for rural people,
  • older persons health,
  • disabilities,
  • chronic conditions,
  • mental health,
  • addictions, or
  • LGBTQIA+ health.
    ✅ Volunteers will need to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 for this role.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

This role is expected to involve 60 hours per year (approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes per week, on average).
