Te Awa Pounamu is a new non-profit that is looking for volunteer help with finding their feet. We are looking for people who are somewhat familiar with and interested in health and safety to help with any or all of the following tasks (YOU DECIDE how much you do):
➜ organise packing up of first aid kits and ensure any company work vehicles first aid kits are topped up,
➜ organising first aid trainings,
➜ help write Health & Safety (H&S) policies,
➜ organise H&S workshops.
➜ liaise with Occupational Health & Safety,
➜ organize the annual H&S audit,
➜ attend any H&S meetings,
➜ assist with inducting trainees on H&S requirements within the viticulture/wine industry,
➜ organize fundraising events for St John's Ambulance and Coast Guard rescue.

As Te Awa Pounamu is still starting up, YOU decide how much time you can commit each week; there is no expectation for one volunteer to take on the entire workload. Do you know someone else who would be a good fit for this role? Maybe you can job-share.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝗼 𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁!
We need someone who has:
➜ knowledge of Word (or similar) and ability to write documents,
➜ familiarity with Excel,
➜ good communication skills (including speaking and writing English fluently)
➜ some experience with or knowledge of health & safety (legislation, policies, etc.)
➜ confidence in engaging in meetings
We also think these are important to have:
➜ confidence in networking,
➜ confidence in speaking to small groups and training others
➜ experience in organising fundraising events
YOU DECIDE how much time you commit each week; we will be flexible to fit to you.
The work load is expected to increase so it may lead to permanent, paid employment!
