Seminar Supporter (and Morning Tea Server)

Once per month, on a Thursday morning, St Christopher's in Redwoodtown run a very popular seminar session called Older Persons Seminars for between 60 and 80 seniors. We're looking for up to five friendly, mature helpers to join the volunteer team that support these very important and popular events.
Volunteers arrive from 9am to help set out materials on the tables (the tables are already arranged so no heavy lifting) and prepare and serve food for morning tea and lunch. Volunteers also help serve the morning tea and check in with senior attendees to ensure they feel welcome and supported.
These Older Persons Seminars are held on the fourth Thursday of every month from 10am - 1pm at St Christopher's Redwoodtown. Please note that volunteers are asked to arrive at 9am to help with set-up (although this can be flexible if you are dropping off kids at school for 9am)

The ideal volunteers for this role would be friendly, mature, reliable, proactive, empathetic, and able to get along with seniors/elderly people.
While there is no heavy lifting involved, volunteers will need to be independently mobile (able to move around other volunteers in the somewhat tight kitchen spaces).
