If you love trains, then this opportunity is your dream come true! The Blenheim Riverside Railway (based at Brayshaw Park) is looking for Guards (Conductors) and Train Drivers for it's narrow gauge railway service along the Taylor River Reserve!
Guards and Assistant Guards are in charge of ensuring the safety and well-being of passengers, clipping tickets, providing basic information, and helping with the coupling of locomotives and carriages. This is a role with plenty of room for learning and upskilling as you progress through the Riverside Railway's training scheme. Once trained and experienced as a Guard, you can then choose to be trained as a driver!
The Riverside Railway Society holds weekly working bees on Saturday mornings. People interested in helping out are invited to visit at 10am on Saturdays to meet the team and check out the vehicles and equipment.
The Blenheim Riverside Railway provides train rides along the beautiful Taylor River on a narrow gauge railway (24 inches). On this fantastic journey, the public (locals and tourists) gets an insight to the changing landscapes and while crossing streams and the Taylor River, one gets an understanding of the history and diversity of the town of Blenheim.
People interested in this role should be 16 years or older, mature, reliable, enthusiastic, and willing to learn.
