Our famous Blenheim Riverside Railway which provides train rides along the Taylor River is looking for trades support. We are looking for anybody with experience as an engineer, electrician, or vehicle mechanic to help maintain the locomotives, carriages, and other equipment. We are also looking for people who are able to drive tractors and front-end loaders for maintenance on tracks.
The Riverside Railway Society holds weekly working bees on Saturday mornings. People interested in helping out are invited to visit at 10am on Saturdays to meet the team and check out the vehicles and equipment.
Volunteers will need to be mature, reliable, responsible, and safety-conscious. An application form will need to be submitted for the committee to undertake a vetting process.
The Blenheim Riverside Railway is operated by a dedicated team of volunteers, who can be seen throughout the week maintaining the track and on running days, presenting, promoting and running a very professional railway experience, for the public.
We have members from all walks of life; students, teachers, tradespeople and retired members, with trades that allow the railway to continue to run without interruption, due to their dedication and trade qualifications.
