The Marlborough-Nelson Marine Radio Association currently has eight dedicated volunteer marine VHF radio operators, and they're looking for more. Could this be you?
Marine radio operators take turns monitoring the radio channels, providing a valuable service to boaties in the Nelson/Marlborough area. Operators read weather forecasts and other safety information, record vessel’s trips and positions, and can connect boaties to the assistance they require.
This is a work from home volunteer position. Volunteers who live in Picton or Blenheim would be best suited to this role.
Shifts are normally 12 hours. You can choose from morning shift or afternoon shift . You can choose how frequently you volunteer.
The Association provides ALL the radio and other equipment required, plus full training and backup!
