Assist with the running of Asthma Marlborough's COPD group by setting up and packing down equipment, helping with afternoon tea, supporting nurses during the group session, and transporting clients (if possible).
Volunteer alone or as part of a pair; this would be a great opportunity to get a friend, partner, or whanau member involved!
No specific skills are required for this role but previous experience working or volunteering in the healthcare sector will be an advantage. This would be a role well-suited to a retired nurse or caregiver.
Gentle lifting is required for set up and pack down so reasonable physical fitness is required.
Confidentiality is important for this role so we will ask you to commit to maintaining the privacy of our clients at all times. More information and an induction on this topic will be provided.
Volunteers who wish to help picking up and dropping off clients will need to use their own car but travel costs can be reimbursed. Your car will need to have a current WOF and registration. You will need a full and clean licence.
Volunteers interested in this role are not required to help with transport; if you can only help with other duties, we would still like to hear from you!
All volunteers will be asked to undergo a criminal record check.
No specific skills required, but previous experience in healthcare sector is an advantage. Volunteers wanting to help with transport will need a full and clean driver's licence.
The COPD group meets twice per month on Thursdays from 1:30 to 3pm
